arrow_back Tips for Searching Destinations

The following tips can help you search for your destination effectively:

  • When you search for an address, use the simplest form of locality street-name house-number or house-number street-name locality, preferably without the designation of the public place (street, square, etc.) and other abbreviations and punctuation marks (dot, slash, etc. ). If the quick search does not immediately give you a suitable result, you can use the search button on the virtual keyboard. The strength of the HERE WeGo map is the search by address, and if an address is not found, you probably mistype something.

  • When you search not for an address (a name of a place, a category, POIs, e.g. parking lots, shops, ATMs), you may get results from a too large area (not only from the vicinity of your location). In such a case use the Search here button to narrow down the results to the target area. To preliminarily narrow down the results, you could try a simple form of locality search-text.

It may happen that the search gives only one result, but not what you are looking for (nevertheless, you still get to route planning immediately). In such cases, you can try a more precise search text, or instead of a text search, you can select the destination on the map.

  • Online the search usually works faster.

  • GPS coordinates can also be searched, and the appropriate destination (e.g. address) can be selected from the list of results.

  • Always check the location of the destination on the map, and always save the destination in a collection before making route plans (don't rely just on the search history).

No results?
  • When searching online, check the internet connection, and when searching offline, make sure that the appropriate maps for the area you are looking for are downloaded to the device.

  • Before the search set the search area in the map window (at least at country or region level).

  • When searching not by address, you can also try to search for similar or related words. HERE WeGo stores the places (POIs) in several groups, but for now only a few of these can be selected directly (e.g. parking lots, gas stations).

  • Most of the addresses can be found on the map both in online and offline mode, so the search does not necessarily require an internet connection (often even if the application is missing it for some reason in offline mode). A more likely reason can be that you have mistyped something during the search, or the search area has not been set into the map window, or perhaps you have narrowed the area down too much with the Search here option.
